We have now been in South Dakota since mid-June. Dave is enjoying his new job as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Black Hills State University. He can be reached at david.haney@bhsu.edu. Lisa is an adjunct instructor in the College of Education at Black Hills State as well as a part-time student studying the Lakota language. We live in a house built in 1883 near downtown Spearfish, and we are making new friends as we try to stay in touch with our old friends. Our dog Larsina and our two cats, Harrison and River, are enjoying new smells and sleeping places.

We have not been playing out in public yet, though we have been practicing and doing a little recording at home. Here is a photo of our last gig in North Carolina at the Home Town Opry with Eric Ellis, Billy Gee, David Johnson, and Ron Swann, all of whom played on Eric Ellis’s recent CD (see the "Music" tab for samples). Thanks to Rick Drummond for the photo.

Although we have cut back on performances due to our busy lives in the past few months, we continue to play in the Boone, NC area, and we have been involved in recording projects during the past year: Lisa and her sister Melinda Mills recorded a children’s music cd, We’re LearningThrough Song, and Dave recorded with Eric Ellis on Eric’s Every Night Before Breakfast. (See the "music" page for details.) Watch our "schedule" page for news about our appearances.
